Lehman College

Did you know that Lehman College currently resides on what used to be Hunter College’s Bronx campus? For a decade before the second world war began in 1939, Lehman’s campus served ONLY female students who then eventually transferred to Hunter’s main campus to continue their studies. On July 1st, 1968 Lehman was officially launched into the CUNY university system as an independent entity. It is a campus that has deep roots in the community and serves them well with a variety of professional programs and academic paths, science being one of them. Lehman’s new Science Hall boasts state of the art facilities and award winning research faculty to do great research in it. STEM RA students have the opportunity to explore research opportunities at this campus in topic areas including but not limited to chemistry, molecular biology and psychology.
