John Jay College

John Jay College has its roots tied to Baruch College in that it began as a program on Baruch’s campus as the Police Science Program, established in 1954.The program grew steadily over the course of the next decade and eventually was established as College of Police Science of the CUNY in 1965. It gained its current name of John Jay College of Criminal Justice shortly after. John Jay has a wide range of research happening at its multitude of research centers where award winning research faculty carry out their own work while teaching and mentoring students. STEM RA students are able to tap into this academic environment of excellence and participate in research that includes toxicology, molecular biology and chemistry.
