HOW TO REGISTER
REMOTE SESSION GUIDELINES
Due to COVID-19, all of our campus tours have changed to remote sessions. All campuses utilize Zoom for their remote campus visits. If your school does not use Zoom, please reach out to the Campus Coordinator to discuss the best tech option for your school.
All registrants must be aware of the following guidelines:
- Registrants must share and test the link with Explorers staff prior to the visit to avoid any inappropriate interruptions.
- Participants must be on mute when entering a session
- Teachers or staff will be asked to help monitor the chat during the session.
- Should there by any inappropriate or unsafe behavior, Explorers staff will immediately end the remote session.
SCHEDULE BY CAMPUS
Bronx Community College
The theme of the Bronx Community College visit is College Majors and Careers. Students will take part in one of the following experiences: Biology, Chemistry, Medical Lab Tech, Nursing, Media & Digital, Art/Gaming/Design, Dance and Wellness, Radiology, Automotive, or a traditional campus tour. All experiences are led by college faculty and/or a student in the related major. Please see the registration site for more details.

Brooklyn College
The theme of the Brooklyn College visit is College Knowledge. During the remote session, students will learn about what it is like to be a college student through activities and critical thinking exercises. The theme of the York College visit is A Day in the Life. Students will engage in a remote “Majors and Minors” campus tour led by Visit Guides. They will learn about the differences between a major and minor, hear from Visit Guides about their own middle school challenges and college experiences, and learn how to chose a college that would best fit their needs. LaGuardia Community College
The theme of the LaGuardia Community College visit is Understanding the Experience of a College Student. Students will learn about the different choices and pathways they can take to attend college. They can choose between a storytelling activity that will ask them to create a future college student, or learn more about the field of Epidemiology. Both workshops aim to expand students’ knowledge of the steps they can take to prepare for college. Please see the registration site for more information.

The theme of the Lehman College visit is Getting to Know You, Getting to Know Your Major. Students will go on a virtual tour and choose between various workshops about early college awareness. Visit Guides will discuss choosing the right high school, stories about their experience as college students, and provide insightful resources to middle schoolers. NYC College of Technology
The theme of the City Tech visit is the College Experience. We are looking forward to sharing the College Experience through live sessions with your students. Visit guides will facilitate an informative and interactive 30-minute or 45-minute session. Students will see a brief video, photos of the college, experience personal college stories while learning a great deal about the college experience. John Jay College
The theme of the John Jay College virtual tour is You CAN GO TO COLLEGE! Students will participate in an interactive virtual tour led by JJAY students. Scholars will explore the campus and introductory College 101 material. Through dynamic virtual activities, students will learn the steps it takes to pursue a higher learning experience. As a college determined to create Fierce Advocates of Justice, students will also help Detective Scruff solve a homecoming mystery that shakes the JJAY campus. Queensborough Community College
The theme of the Queensborough visit is STEP into STEM. Through interactive activities, students will explore STEM subjects and careers in new and creative ways. Students will learn how different STEM areas can translate into everyday life. Through a virtual campus tour, students will visit various buildings such as Administration, Art & Design, and the Holocaust Center. Queens College
The theme of the Queens College visit is Shaping Your Future. Students will tour the college through videos and photos of campus stops such as the Student Union, library, gymnasium, quad, and dorm building. Visit Guides will provide an informative experience while facilitating interactive activities. Students will learn about college terminology, college readiness, and financial aid. The theme of the City College visit is a Pathway to Dreams. Students can take part in multiple workshops to learn about different high school and college choices. The purpose of the workshops is to show what steps middle school students can take now to impact their future. The theme of the Borough of Manhattan Community College visit is Start Here, Go Anywhere. Medgar Evers College
The theme of the Medgar Evers visit is College Your Way! Students, parents, and teachers can experience college through photos, videos, and discussions with knowledgeable Visit Guides. While showing you the wonderful campus, we will be touching on a range of essential college-related topics such as the application process, how to pay for college, and extracurricular options and opportunities offered to college students. LATENESS AND CANCELLATION POLICIES
- If a school must cancel a visit, give the campus coordinator at least 1 week notice. This allows time to offer the date to other schools. If a cancellation occurs with less than 1 week notice, the school will forfeit additional visits on that campus for the remainder of the academic year.
- If a school does not show up for a visit, the school will forfeit remaining visits on that campus for the remainder of the academic year.
